All Mason families are invited to attend our free Virtual Family Weekend, which will take place between mid-October and mid-November. In following with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Mason’s Safe Return to Campus Plan, our office is practicing social distancing guidelines to keep the Mason community safe. Therefore, our traditional in-person Family Weekend events are cancelled, but we are encouraging students and families to create their own experience!
To help with the creation of your customized Family Weekend experience, we’ve created digital activity guides to help you engage with your family at-home, in Northern Virginia, in D.C., and on Mason’s campus. These guides list activities, dining, and shopping options that will keep your family entertained throughout the fall season. We’re also offering live session opportunities that you can participate in from the comfort of your home. Whether you’re in Virginia, California, Texas, Alaska, or international, you can be a part of Virtual Family Weekend no matter where you are!
Some of our live sessions include a Cooking Class in partnership with Mason Dining, an Evening Under the Stars hosted by the George Mason Department of Physics and Astronomy, and a faculty spotlight event with Dr. Mary Ellen O’Toole, Professor and Director of the George Mason Forensic Science program. We are currently working on the details, dates, and times of these events, and more, and will announce them soon. We’re looking forward to (virtually) seeing you for this year’s Virtual Family Weekend!
